Student of the Month - Sophie Tucker Riley

Sophie Tucker Riley, a golden retriever, has been with us since 2003. You can usually spot Sophie sprinting through our doors every Thursday. Here is a poem that her mom wrote about when she first got her:

Sophie Tucker
Looking for a red Golden, I chose the ad that said
"Parents on premises" (so you were home grown, a family dog)
Among 13 pups in a pen of red Goldens,
I spotten your tiny white toes,
then smiled, assured,
and realized you were mine.
At five weeks old - a maturing dog - eating solid food,
we paused for a picture with your mother (you look like her now).
Then your tiny white toes went up and over, into a small (big-for-you) box.
We were going home.
This is the story of how you came to be with me.
